What we collect
We collect account details (name, email, username and optional phone), profile details, uploaded or recorded media, challenge/session/chat activity, follows, listening events, notification preferences, security logs and technical information such as IP-derived security hashes, browser details and timestamps. Microphone audio is captured only after browser permission and an intentional recording action.
How we use it
We use data to authenticate members, publish approved profiles, operate music playback and Pass the Mic, process audio, prevent abuse, send requested alerts, moderate reports, support users, diagnose reliability and understand aggregate use. We do not sell personal information.
Visibility and sharing
Display names, usernames, bios, cities, approved artist media and selected activity may be public. Email, phone, protected stems and private session data are restricted to authorized users and administrators. Producers may access submissions to their challenges. Hosting, email and processing providers may handle data only to provide the service.
Retention and deletion
Active account data is kept while the service is provided. Expired upload chunks and invites are scheduled for cleanup. Security and audit records may be kept for up to 24 months. A deletion request immediately hides owned directory listings and starts a review/grace process; data may be retained where needed for fraud prevention, disputes, legal obligations or the rights of collaborators. Download your account data before requesting deletion if you want a copy.
Security and choices
We use hashed passwords, protected audio paths, authorization checks, CSRF protection, rate limiting and server access controls. No system is perfectly secure. You can update profile details, opt out of public join signals, control notifications, export data and request deletion from your profile.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13 and account creation requires confirmation of age 13 or older. If we learn that an under-13 user supplied personal information, contact us so it can be reviewed and deleted. The FTC explains current children’s privacy obligations in its official COPPA guidance.
